The town hall of the Dragu commune in Zalău county, through Mayor Angelica Lazăr, signed on December 9, 2019 the financing contract for the project "Rehabilitation, modernization and endowment of Secondary School no. 1", SMIS code 120850 within the ROP 2014-2020, Priority Axis 10 - Improving the educational infrastructure, Operation: Increasing the degree of participation in early education and compulsory education, especially for children at high risk of leaving the system early.

The purpose of the project is to improve the quality of the education infrastructure and the endowment of Secondary School no. 1 with grades I-IV, leading to an increase in the quality of the educational process and access to compulsory education at the level of Dragu Municipality.

The specific objectives are:

• Ensuring the preliminary conditions in order to consolidate and rehabilitate the school.
• Modernization and expansion of the High School building no. 1, the creation of optimal conditions for the development of educational activities, but also for the provision of hygienic and sanitary conditions, both for teaching staff and for students.
• Ensuring a quality education for children through modernization with modern and efficient equipment and facilities

The project implementation period is between 25.11.2016 – 31.12.2021.

The total value of the project: 3,025,763.15 lei, of which non-refundable financial support from the European Regional Development Fund 2,870,319.21 lei.
