Following the first NEPTUNE funding call, 18 collaborative innovative projects, which will be implemented by 32 winning SMEs from Romania, France, Greece, Spain, Sweden and Italy, will be supported with 1.3 million euros from the research and development program -innovation of the European Commission Horizon 2020.
5 companies from the North-West Region, members of the cluster CLEMS – Innovative cluster for a sustainable environment, are the Romanian winners of the first NEPTUNE funding call, each company benefiting from vouchers of a maximum of 60,000 euros. The 3 collaborative projects that will be implemented in the region over a period of 16 months, starting from July 2017, are the following:
- ANASYWA: Advanced nanofiltration system for water purification
- Increasing the efficiency of nutrient reduction in wastewater from small communities
- SONOELCHEMCELL: Prototype wastewater treatment, without biological treatment, with cavitation and electrochemical oxidation in high voltage field, generated by ultrasound and electrokinetic disintegration
Half of the total budget allocated at the level of the NEPTUNE consortium to SMEs and potential entrepreneurs from the partner regions remained available for the open call until on September 15, 2017. Individual or collaborative applications, developed in English, by companies in the ITC, energy, environment, agriculture, water fields, which through their activity or through external expertise supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, can contribute to the development of the sectors are targeted: the management of water resources in the urban and rural environment, port logistics, sea and river transport, environment and hydro renewable energy.
