Mr. Csaba Béres, the mayor of the city of Săcuieni, Bihor county, signed on December 10, 2019 the financing contract for the project "Efficiency of the public lighting system of the city of Săcueni", financed by ROP 2014-2020, within Priority Axis 3 - Support transition to a low-carbon economy, Operation "Increasing energy efficiency in residential buildings, public buildings and public lighting systems, especially those with high energy consumption"

The purpose of the project is to improve the efficiency and modernization of the public lighting system of the city of Săcueni by reducing energy consumption and reducing carbon dioxide emissions from the locality. The objective will be achieved by installing the remote management system, by replacing the existing lighting fixtures, installing photovoltaic panels and by expanding the public lighting system.

Among the 9 specific objectives of the project, we mention:

1. Reduction of the annual consumption of primary energy in public lighting by 140,813 kWh/year, from 283,459 kwh/year to an annual consumption of 142,646 kwh/year.
2. The annual reduction of greenhouse gases by 77.02 tons of carbon dioxide, from 155.05 tons to 78.03 tons.
3. Increasing renewable energy sources by installing 67 photovoltaic panels.
4. Increasing the length of the public lighting system by modernizing/creating/expanding by 46,266.47 ml.
5. Increasing the number of lighting fixtures installed by the project from 0 at the beginning of the implementation to 1042 at the end of the project.

The implementation period is between 01.07.2017 – 31.03.2022.

The total value of the project: 7,302,172.70 lei, of which non-refundable financial support from the European Regional Development Fund 7,156,129.24 lei.
