Today was the signing ceremony of seven financing contracts for the rehabilitation and modernization of some county roads in the North-West Region, a ceremony attended by European Commissioner Corina Crețu.

Through these projects financed from the European Regional Development Fund, through the Regional Operational Program 2014-2020, within Priority Axis 6, Investment Priority 6.1, 148 kilometers of county roads will be rehabilitated, the total amount of non-refundable funding exceeding half a billion lei.

The routes on which intervention will take place are also of particular importance for capitalizing on the tourism potential of the North-West Development Region. The financing contracts signed today refer to:

• Northern Transilvania Regional Route, Apuseni Road, by upgrading DJ 108K (Bihor county border – Drăgan Dam) from kilometer 26+455 to kilometer 29+495 and DJ 764B (Drăgan Dam – DN1 intersection) from kilometer 0+000 to kilometer 22 +164,500, project implemented by UAT Cluj County
• Rehabilitation and modernization of the county road DJ 108D: Crișeni (DN 1H) – Cehu Silvaniei (DJ 196), from kilometer 0+000 to kilometer 22+693, project implemented by UAT Sălaj County
• Northern Transilvania Regional Route, Bistriței Road, by modernizing and rehabilitating DJ 109 (DN1C intersection – Salaj county border) from kilometer 0+000 to kilometer 31+976, project implemented by UAT Cluj County
• Rehabilitation and modernization of county road DJ 196: Satu-Mare – Horoatu Cehului – Benesat county border, from kilometer 28+000-28+900 to kilometer 36+080-43+150, project implemented by UAT Sălaj County
• Modernization of DJ172D: Muresenii Bârgaului (DN17) – Lac Colibița – Colibița – Bistrita Bârgaului (DN17) – (DN17) Josenii Bârgaului – Strâmba – Ilva Mică (DN17D) – Poiana Ilvai – Măgura Ilvai – Ilva Mare – Lunca Ilvai – Suceava county border, Bistrița-Năsăud county, lot 1, section 2, project implemented by UAT Bistrița-Năsăud County
• Transilvania Nord Regional Route, Bistriței Road, by modernizing DJ 172A (kilometer 33+000 – kilometer 39+452), DJ 161G (from kilometer 0+000 to kilometer 18+406) and DJ 161 (intersection DN16) – Gădălin – Bonțida – DN 1C (kilometer 0+000 – kilometer 16+933,100), project implemented by UAT Cluj County
• Northern Transilvania Regional Route, Apuseni Road: rehabilitation and modernization of DJ108K, total length of 12.893 kilometers, Bihor County, project implemented by UAT Bihor County

REGIO 2014-2020 is currently financing, in the Northwest Development Region, infrastructure investments for more than 300 kilometers of county roads, projects whose non-refundable allocation exceeds 1.31 billion lei.
